More than a trendy acronym…..Practical PBL (Project Based Learning)
Time & Location
Sep 30, 2022, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Greencastle, 1 N Calbert Way Suite A, Greencastle, IN 46135, USA (Old National Trail Room)
About the event
This workshop will be a deep dive into what PBL is and can be for you and your students at the 6-12 level. Participants will bring their standards and their best teaching practices to the workshop and leave with a plan to build a unit that integrates both in a way that engages students in real problem solving. Project based learning is one of the best ways to bring student ownership into the classroom and bring joy as well. By presenting the problem or introducing the project before doing any scaffolding around the standards needed to complete the project, the learners have a stronger reason for learning.
Leah Henry has worked with a number of PBL organizations as a trainer and school development coach for the past 20 years in K-12 education and with all content areas. She understands the learning model and will work with you to address any potential roadblocks to PBL that you have identified in your content area and school situation.
The Castle is proud to offer this opportunity for the low cost of $50! We are proud to launch our first professional development sessions with WCESC and are celebrating the beginning of our offerings with this low cost!
The training counts towards the state requirement for all educators to have PBL training prior to 2025 and participants can opt to continue to work with Leah and the Castle team as they implement the unit they develop.
